Ayodeji Adewunmi - Top30Under30 Curator
At Top30Under30, Ayodeji guides the overall strategic orientation and project planning, an Initiative he envisioned.
He co-founded RealEstateweb in 2007 and oversees partnerships and all aspect of project management issues, which include but not limited to product development, product specification, user interface design, usability testing, release management, and led the monetization of the company.
In Spring 2007, Ayodeji had a stint at Goldman Sachs London Offices as an Advisory Intern. Ayodeji brings a wealth of more than 5,000 hours of project management. He is a recipient of the Inaugural Malaria Awards 2006 – University Student of the Year category – for his pioneering work on malaria within the Federation of Medical Students worldwide (IFMSA) and was named a TEDGlobal 2007 Fellow. He has addressed audiences from the University of Ghana to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Prior to founding RealEstateweb, Ayodeji was the Chief Partnerships Officer of the International Young Professionals Foundation.
Ayodeji was the Editor-in-Chief of the 12th issue - Medical Student International Magazine of the IFMSA, www.ifmsa.org that has its theme on the Millennium Development Goals, and seats on the Global Advisory Board of TeenAIDS Peer-Corps based in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
Ayodeji is currently on the Advisory Team for the design, structuring and implementation of a $US 500 million Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Nigeria. Ayodeji is on the team of financial advisors structuring a US$ 250 Million debt capital for a client’s offshore parties committed to real estate investment in Nigeria for the next 5 years. His work was featured in the final UN Report on:” Youth and the Millennium Development Goals: Challenges and Opportunities for Implementation”.
Ayodeji is an alumnus of the Inwent-Global 21 Campus where he completed a course in “Consultancy as a professional option” and has completed a course in “Basics of Health Planning” from the College of Health Sciences, American University of Armenia. Ayodeji is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Medicine & Surgery at the Obafemi Awolowo University.
Olatunji Olaogun - Top30Under30 Program Director
At Top30Under30, Tunji is responsible for the nomination process and workflow of the program. He is the brain trust behind the Top30Under30 sculpture and honourary scroll.
Tunji is multidimensional as a designer, artist and a product and process development consultant. He has a strong belief in excellence and the ability to apply diversity in the process of generating ideas. He has a passionate belief in the potentials that creativity holds in developing economies.
Tunji was shortlisted as a Nigerian national finalist for the 2008 International Young Design Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was the inaugural recipient of the Most Creative Graduating Student Award and 2003 CAD Architect of the Year award of the Department of Architecture, Obafemi Awolowo University. He was also a recipient of the 1995 Federal Ministry of Education: National Collegiate Scholarship Award.
Presently, he works as an Architect in Nigeria.
He speaks English, Yoruba and Hausa fluently and has working knowledge of French.
Oluwatosin Omole - Director of Operations
At Top30Under30, Tosin handles the design, planning and organizing of the Top30Under30 events and associated logistics.
Born in France; raised in Nigeria. Tosin attended the Frontiers Business School in 2003 and participated in the 2004 edition of the Hewlett Packard Global Business Challenge. He is the co-editor of the African Youth HIV/AIDS Best Practices Handbook which was published in 2006. He is a member of Amnesty International, OAU Group 4, Ile-Ife, and Students Advisory Group-International Campaign to Revitalize Academic Medicine. He also serves as the Students Coordinator of the Campus Health and Rights Initiative, a project that works to promote the reproductive health and rights of campus based students. He was until 2006 on the African regional team of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations.
He has won awards from various organizations such as the Centre for Social Policy, Institute for Public Policy Analysis, Baobab for Women’s Human Rights, The National Mathematical Center, The Goi Peace Foundation and the International AIDS Society. As an upcoming writer, he has written on diverse spheres of human endeavor.
His interests are within the broad spectrum of International Health, Sustainable Development, International Business and Management Consulting. He enjoys playing the piano, reading novels and traveling. Tosin is currently a student of Medicine & Surgery at the Obafemi Awolowo University and recently obtained a certificate in health planning from the American University of Armenia.
Macaulay Iyayi - European Director
At Top30Under30, Macaulay guides the international sponsorship & advertising program to raise awareness amongst foreign investors and companies interested in investing in Africa.
Kayode Makinde - Top30Under30 Director of Finance & Corporate Communications
At Top30Under30, Kayode is responsible for financial management and was central to securing the initial seed money.
He brings to the team a visionary insight on how African businesses can stand up and be counted in the 21st century business environment devoid of geographical barriers. Kayode is young, flexible and goal-oriented. He attended the Frontiers Business School in 2003 and bagged a certificate with distinction in Electronic Data Processing from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2000. His greatest strength lies in his communication skills and financial acumen. He is a member of Amnesty International, OAU Group 4, Ile-Ife and a member of Campus Health and Rights Initiative. His passion for Africa is fueled by the desire to see a paradigm shift on how the continent is perceived by the global community.
As a former Public Relations Officer of the medical students’ body in one of Nigeria’s premier universities, his belief about Africa is summed up in this maxim- “growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional”. Africa is old enough to grow up and this can be achieved when young people decide to take their destiny in their hands.
He is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in medicine and surgery and he is the co-coordinator of SMARTmedics (a subsidiary of KAYMAK GROUP) - a venture that promotes continuous personal improvement and skills acquisition amongst medical students.
Femi Kuti - Top30Under30 Director of Research
At Top30Under30, Femi is responsible for carrying out background checks, verifications and intensive due diligence on event logistics, candidates and prospective collaborating partners to ensure a world-class organization.
Femi knows at least something about everything. He brings a unique insight into promoting entrepreneurship and a keen understanding of the exciting African business space and how it fits into the scheme of global business.
He is a young and dynamic personality who is passionate about Entrepreneurship, Africa and the point where the two meet. Femi is presently pursuing a medical degree in one of Nigeria’s top universities he says, “I am tired of hearing about the Africa of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, famine and war. The time has come for the Africa of brilliant minds and innovative businesses to take the limelight.”
As a former Editor-in-Chief for Nigeria’s national medical students’ magazine and founder and manager of a growing digital photography studio, Femi believes that the future of Africa lies in the hands of the younger generation and in their abilities to identify opportunities and capitalize on them. This belief underlines his commitment and passion for the Top30Under30 project.
In 2000, he won the First Prize for the Longman Publishers Nigeria Plc National Essay Competition. Femi is currently a Chevron National Scholar and Shell Scholar.
Oluwaseun Akinfolarin - Top30Under30 Director of Sponsorships
At Top30Unnder30, Seun steers the vision of the project in strategic brand alignment with partner companies & organizations, and was behind the design of a robust content for Top30Under30 ensuring partners and other stakeholders derive the highest returns on investment.
He co-founded SYL Technologies in 2005, where he is responsible for the business strategy development and played a major role in developing the 10 year strategic plan that has help accelerate the growth of the company.
Passionate about human capacity development, Seun has been involved in a lot of projects that will increase the educational capacity of Nigerians such as the Virtual Open University of Nigeria (VOUN) and the Educational Trust Fund’s Interactive Learning Network projects. He is the creator of the Global child project-an initiative which employs information technology in global peace engineering.
As Vice President, External Relations of AIESEC in Ife, Seun is responsible for forging partnership with corporations, government and the media. He is currently finishing his undergraduate studies in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University.
Opeyemi Awoyemi - Top30Under30 Director of IT
At Top30Under30, Opeyemi directs Top30Under30’s data center and network operations, and oversees design and development of the Web and software applications. He has domain expertise in the areas of branding, strategy and online user experience.
He is the CEO of ennovateNIGERIA and has carried out multimedia work (branding, graphics and web projects) for more than 30 firms both in Nigeria and across the Atlantic. Some of his clients include Obafemi Awolowo University, Synergy HealthCare Limited, Pixels Digital Systems and RealEstateweb.
Opeyemi is presently exploring Web 2.0 opportunities within the Nigerian space and was an erstwhile National Director of Software, Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students.
Opeyemi is currently a third year student of Computer Science & Engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University. |
