The Top30Under30 Documentary will feature short clips on each 35 finalists, covering them in their home countries or where they are based. Each finalist will bring unique insights on their path to success, providing different perspectives and giving the documentary a broader appeal.
The major strategic objectives of the documentary are

- To inspire and motivate a new generation of entrepreneurs (young & old) in Africa
- To showcase some of the best of Africa – stories untold, not seen or heard before now
- To profile compelling tales people can relate with globally
The documentary profiles the following
- Early life
- Defining moments: chronicles how, when, where and why they embarked on the road less travelled (starting out); failures & mistakes; important business decisions; their first big break, etc
- What makes them tick: exploring characteristic traits - passionate, visionary, commercial, resilience, biased-for-action, etc
- Interview with family, friends & employees/co-workers/partner on each finalist (Talking to people is one of the main things, because people always know more than they think they know)
The documentary now progress to the present day
- A day in the life of...
- Style – Private lives, homes, simple pleasures, Management style, Life in the City, how they relax, etc
- In their own words – Advice for young entrepreneurs
Prequel to this, there will be a leadup and TV campaign to the live telecast in October, 2006.
- Brief profile on each finalist’s life and business over a period of one month
- Media awareness about the Best Young Entrepreneurs in Africa
- Create a suspense scenario on who makes it to the coveted list of 30 winners from the pool of 35 finalist
- Strategic essence is to get people to talk about it, and look forward to the live telecast and unveiling of the winners during the gala dinner presentation
October ’08 – Parameters for Live Telecast & Gala Dinner
The 35 finalists present at the live telecast will face in a live telecast series the expert of judges and an audience of 400 invitation-only guests to determine who is eminently qualified to make the list. The winners will be unveiled at the gala dinner which will climax the award ceremony
